IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CDCFIB APPLICANTS
In the ongoing CDCFIB recruitment process, the one that began in 2025 and has been lingering into this year (2026):
WHAT HAS HAPPENED SO FAR
1. The application phase officially closed
The CDCFIB recruitment portal, after several delays and extensions due to technical glitches, closed for new submissions on 11 August 2025 with roughly 1.9 million Nigerians having applied.
2. Shortlisting and CBT stages were conducted
The Board released shortlists for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for the paramilitary arms under CDCFIB (NSCDC, Immigration, Fire, Correctional).
CBT/exams were held in November 2025, although many candidates failed this stage for instance, over 200,000 did not pass the exam.
CDCFIB moved to online testing only for these stages instead of physical centres to improve access and transparency.
3. Fake screening notices circulated
Recently, a fraudulent recruitment update was circulated claiming dates for physical screening and document verification. CDCFIB explicitly debunked it as fake.
WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS FOR APPLICANTS
1. Monitoring for Official Updates
CDCFIB has asked all applicants - especially those who were shortlisted or wrote the CBT to continuously check the official portal and its verified social media channels for further instructions.
Emails and phone contacts provided during application will likely be used for direct communication about next stages.
2. Next Stages of the Recruitment Process
Although CDCFIB hasn’t publicly published exact dates yet for all remaining steps, the typical next phases include:
Document verification: Successful CBT candidates are usually called to present credentials for confirmation.
Physical screening/tests: This may involve fitness tests, medical checks and other assessments required for paramilitary services.
Final selection & training posting: Candidates who clear all stages get mobilised for training in the respective agencies.
These are standard steps for federal paramilitary recruitments even when specific CDCFIB dates aren’t yet published.
3. No Recruitment Has Ended - But It’s Progressing
Closing the application portal and CBT exams does not mean the exercise is over. It means selection phases are ongoing and applicants who made it past CBT should expect further communication from CDCFIB soon.
If you passed CBT, the next formal invites will come directly from CDCFIB (not via unofficial channels asking for fees).
4. Beware of Scams
The Board and Federal Government have cautioned against fake recruitment notices. Genuine CDCFIB updates are free and announced only via the official portal and verified accounts.
